Job Title: Buildings – Team Leader
Location: Based at the head office in Derby but with travel to all sites covering Derbyshire, Staffordshire, North Wales, Herefordshire
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday but flexible to work around the capital projects

The SENAD Group is an independent operator of special needs schools, transition homes, supported care and community support services for people with a range of learning disabilities and other complex needs.
Our services are based in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Herefordshire and Dolgellau, Wales.
The Role:
We are looking to recruit a Buildings – Team Leader to have a hands on role within the Buildings team which will carry out refurbishments, for example, replacement bathrooms, kitchens and general building work, and ensure the upkeep of our schools and homes are maintained to a high standard.
You will take the lead in the absence of the Building Services Manager leading the team, dealing with site contacts and contractors as required; ordering materials and collating trades to ensure that the projects run seamlessly and with skill as required.
This role also includes following set budgets as required and achieving value for money whilst maintaining high quality work, and also ensuring all relevant paperwork is in place, to include COSHH data sheets, Risk Assessments and work orders.
Key tasks:
- To carry out a hands on role within the Buildings team which will carry out refurbishments as defined by the capital schedule for example, replacement bathrooms. Kitchens and general building work, ensuring the upkeep of our schools and homes are maintained to a high standard.
- To travel across the group as required and stay over in provided accommodation when necessary
- To lead the team in the absence of the Building services manager and make decisions to ensure the work flow is maintained and materials and trades are in place.
- To undertake relevant training as identified to ensure personal development that will benefit the team and the role.
- To act in a responsible and mature manner respecting our service users and staff whilst assisting to complete projects.
- To ensure the building site is safe and tidy at all times.
- To maintain tools and equipment in safe clean working order, keeping them secure at all times. Ensuring relevant items are PAT tested and ladders are checked.
- To ensure relevant paperwork is in place, to include COSHH data sheets, Risk assessments and work orders
- To collate certification and relevant paperwork as work progresses and pass to the building services manager as required.
- To follow set budgets as required and to achieve value for money and best practice whilst maintaining high quality work.
- To work alone or as part of a team in a positive, proactive manner
- As with all SENAD staff, take joint responsibility for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, adhering to all safeguarding policies.
- Any other duties relevant to the capital project remit of the sites which may be reasonably required.
