Job Title: Sustainability Consultant: Environment Specialist

We are a small Sustainability Consultancy which has grown from one freelancer to a small team and growing number of international clients across a range of sectors, with companies increasingly looking to the E of their Environmental, Social and Governance work and improving their monitoring and reporting of environmental issues, Morelli Consulting now needs an environmental specialist to complement the team’s client work. This will be the go-to-person for our work with clients in environmental sustainability.
As a team, our ethos is to roll-up-our-sleeves and help clients implement change and manage the detail, particularly around non-financial data management. This includes setting up new processes, designing templates, delivering training and completing questionnaires. You will be comfortable in dealing with detail and you take responsibility for the accuracy of your work and delivering against commitments.
The Role
As a specialist in environmental management, accounting and reporting, you will contribute to the team’s work with our clients on the environmental technical aspects of engagements.
You will work alongside other team members to manage client relationships from start to end using excellent project management and communication skills. You will use your experience of carbon accounting to deliver on clients’ data work for GHG emissions; from designing reporting systems and processes, creating GHG inventories, helping with data collection, monitoring progress and reporting.
You will have good knowledge of the technical aspects of carbon accounting from different sectors and are very comfortable with the GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets, the TCFD and other standards, methodologies and frameworks.
The successful candidate will have experience of other environmental issues such as water, packaging, waste and the circular economy, biodiversity and wider natural capital.
Job responsibilities:
Proven experience to complete tasks such as:
- Leading and coordinating client engagements.
- Being the environmental subject matter expert in our team and with our clients.
- Advising clients, and implementing projects, to calculate footprints and develop reduction strategies.
- Managing environmental data for clients including GHG inventories.
The Candidate:
- A degree in an environmental or sciences topic or relative experience.
- Experience as an environmental or sustainability consultant or in-house.
- Experience in designing and implementing carbon measurement tools and reduction initiatives.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of reporting frameworks, standards and protocols including Science-Based Targets and the TCFD.
