About the role:
We are currently looking for a fee earner to join our Portal Team in the OL/PL department. Tenacity, ability and enthusiasm are more important than qualification. You will be expected to manage your own caseload in the role.
Key duties:
- Take initial instructions from client and complete FN009
- Ensure correct accident circumstances, injuries and potential losses are recorded on the file
- Obtain FOAs for medical records and request from medical agency
- Research to ensure the claim is submitted to the correct potential Defendant(s)
- Research into accident location, requesting photographs, CCTV, receipts etc. to ensure the appropriate evidence is obtained as early as possible
- Consideration of the relevant Statute/law to draft allegations to the Defendant
- Consider Claimant’s injuries to ensure correct protocol is being followed
- Submit Claims Notification Form (CNF) or Letter of Claim to the Defendant(s)
- Chasing Defendant and/or insurer for response
- Consideration of denial and/or disclosure received from Defendant
- Weekly review with supervisor
- Ensure client is kept updated throughout process
- 60+ CNF/LOC per month target to attain £100 bonus
Person Specification
Essential criteria
- Previous case management experience of high-volume caseload
- Experience of handling customer/client enquires on either the telephone or face to face
- Proficiency in handling multiple enquiries and managing own time to ensure all enquiries fully pursued
- Be able to deal with and talk sensitively to clients about issues of a sensitive nature
- Strong influencing, negotiating and objection handling skills
- A focus on driving cases through the scheme process to conclusion
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to deal proactively and confidently with difficult clients
- Ability to present relevant information to management in a concise manner.
- Be able to perform and meet targets
- The role involves the use of IT systems and therefore computer literacy, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desired criteria
- Previous background knowledge of OLPL portal claims or general personal injury.
- Completion of a legal qualification (LLB, GDL, LPC)
- Knowledge of Proclaim Case Management System

- A basic salary of £19k, with a very generous Portal Bonus Scheme
