Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Waterlooville
Salary: £18,933
Job type: Full-time , 52 weeks, 37 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm. Fridays 8am to 3.30pm.
The company is a highly successful provider of 11-18 year education for the Roman Catholic and wider Christian community in Waterlooville and the surrounding area.
The Role
The Governors are seeking to appoint an IT Technician to join their hardworking, committed and enthusiastic team. To work as part of the IT Support Team in the day-to-day delivery of high-quality IT Services and the development of new services to the school and external customers.
This will include representing the company during regular visits to customer sites and providing help and advice to teachers or other non-IT staff.
Key Requirements:
- Monitor the ticket recording system, emails, and walkie talkie radios for support requests
- Play a proactive part in resolving support incidents quickly and efficiently
- Help to install new equipment and software using standard tools
- Configure new equipment and re -purpose existing hardware where necessary
- Accurately maintain the equipment inventory, including changes in location, user, or department for all equipment
- Maintain the user database (Active Directory) to ensure it is up to date, accurate and secure
- If necessary, escalate support incidents to the Senior IT Technician or Technical Services Manager
The Candidate:
- 5 GCSEs A* – C including English and Maths
- Experience of supporting Windows 10, Microsoft Office
- Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Real interest and natural enthusiasm for working within IT, with a keen interest in computer technology and IT generally
- A desire to aim for a continual improvement in service, management, and maintenance of IT Services
