This day care is a growing group of Private Day Nurseries and Pre-School in the West Midlands. They are currently looking for an experienced Manager to join their busy nursery and be part of their management team!
This is a maternity cover opportunity working 40 hours per week. As a company, they pride themselves in supporting their team. This helps to create the right environment for staff, children and families alike.

Key Responsibilities:
The new manager should have an extensive knowledge of the early years curriculum and be passionate in supporting children to reach their full potential. As well as being able to follow the early years requirements and the inspection framework.
To be responsible for the development and daily management of the Nursery providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children aged 6 weeks to 11 years of age.
Good communication skills are a must as we need our manager to have good relationships with the families we support as well as building good bonds with the staff in the nursery.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Undertake the daily management of the nursery to ensure that high standards are developed and maintained throughout and provide activities to ensure that, whilst at the nursery, children receive physical, emotional, social and intellectual development, giving consideration to families ethnic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds whilst maintaining relationships with parents and carers on the admission, care and education of children to ensure that the diverse needs of the children are met.
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead working with other professionals in the identification and monitoring of child abuse and the management of appropriate care programmes ensuring that guidelines for Safeguarding Children are adhered to and develop relationships with external agencies and professionals to ensure adequate care of the children is maintained.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff making sure that those appointed are qualified and possess the skills required to work in the nursery.
- Keep abreast of legislation, guidelines, policies, etc., to ensure the Early Years Foundation Stage is met at all times. Regularly review policies and procedures to be followed within the nursery to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Have a minimum NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 /C or above
- Have a minimum 5 years post qualification experience within a childcare setting
- Experience of working in a Management role, mentoring and leading staff and leading by example
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS (Ofsted statutory guidance) including the new EIF and the Development Matters
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
- Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
- Ability to deliver a high standard of childcare
