Job Title: Driver Trainer/Instructor (Approved Driving Instructor)

Salary: £24,313 to £26,317 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract (37 hour flexible working week)

Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct and assess Service personnel in response Driving Techniques to competencies of the Firefighters role map and the Police Driver Training manual ‘Roadcraft’
- Instruct and assess Fire & Rescue Service personnel in the operation of Specialist Vehicles used by the Fire & Rescue Service
- Provide objective assessment of competencies for drivers under instruction
- Responsible for the daily routine checks and cleanliness of training vehicles
- Update training records and compile course reports
- The Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) will carry out instructing for Cat B driver training and opportunity will exist for instructing Emergency Response Driving
- Carry out daily administration duties relevant to course provision
- Take part in all training activities as and when directed by management
- Working flexibly in relation to the needs of the post and the service, occasionally working weekends and public holidays
- Provide technical support to the Service and the Driver Training Manager on driver training
The Candidate:
- Possess basic IT skills
- Approved Driving Instructor (DVSA)
- Demonstrate commitment to good data quality within all areas of work
- Demonstrate effective communication and organisational skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of equality and diversity to them as an employer and service provider
- Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to implement Health & Safety in the work place
- To hold and maintain a current full valid manual car driving licence
- Ability to work flexibly in relation to the needs of the post and provide commitment to the working arrangements including occasionally working weekends and public holidays
