Job Title: Student Placement Officer (part-time, term-time only)
Hours of work:
20 hours per week, 9.30 am until 1.30 pm (4 hours per day), term-time only, excluding Project and Work Placement Scheme (PaWS) week (38 weeks in total)
37 hours per week during PaWS week which takes place in June each year (1 week in total)
An additional floating 30 hours per year to be worked during peak times (to be agreed with the successful applicant)
Contract type: Permanent
Start date: Monday 20th April 2020
Salary: The salary for this post will be within the range 21-25 of the pay spine for Support Staff, which is currently £18,400.00 – £20,765.00 per annum (reduced pro rata to £9,038.79 – £10,200.56 pa in accordance with the term time only contract)
The College is an outstandingly successful Sixth Form College with 2,500 16-19 year old students following advanced level courses. They have a long history of exceptional examination results and sits near the top of the national sixth-form college performance tables, meaning it is one of the very best in the country.
The College has a fantastic opportunity for a Student Placement Officer to join the support staff team. Supporting the Placement Manager, the role will be interesting and varied, covering a wide range of duties focused on the planning of the student project and work placement week (which takes place in June each year) and the coordination and administration of the College’s successful student volunteering scheme. The role will involve a significant amount of general administration and the maintenance of College databases.
Applications are sought from individuals with strong organisational and administrative skills. Due to the high level of interaction with College staff, students and external project and placement providers that this role requires, excellent telephone and face-to-face people skills and the ability to use Social Media Platforms effectively are also essential.
