Job Title: Programme/Policy Manager – Data, Cloud & AI

Location: London

Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Data, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence Programme works to ensure the Organisation continues to be the authoritative voice of the cloud computing, data analytics and AI industries and single point of contact for UK government and key stakeholders on issues impacting these technologies.

A programme of events, meetings and thought leadership development focuses on identifying key opportunities and challenges that need to be addressed to develop the UK cloud computing market, encourage data driven change, increase deployment and adoption of data analytics and machine learning technologies and make the UK AI ready.

Role Purpose

This role supports the Associate Director of Technology and Innovation in delivering a successful programme of activities across the areas of Cloud Computing, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in order to deliver value to member companies, as well as assisting in growing the Organisation’s membership base.

The person appointed will show capability and potential to build on a strong foundation of solid programmes, strong member engagement, and good external reputation and stakeholder relationships.

He/she will need to have, or a propensity to develop quickly, a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges in data, Cloud and AI and where members can work collectively to understand and enhance those opportunities.

This role provides an opportunity to work closely with member companies providing cloud, data and AI technologies that are at the forefront of the UK’s digital economy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise and run programme, stakeholder and member meetings as requested including joint sessions with other programmes and deliver outputs that meet programme objectives
  • Instigate, manage and coordinate the development of programme events and meetings and thought leadership collateral including articles, presentations, reports relevant to the aims and objectives of the work programme
  • Promote the programme though insights, opinions, social media and PR activities;
  • Draft reports, papers, articles and meeting notes as requested.
  • Manage the maintenance of all relevant parts of the website and relevant CRM systems
  • Become a trusted point of contact for members, internal colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Engage with and support the Organisation’s policy, public affairs and press activities relating to Cloud, Data Analytics & AI
  • Undertake designated account management responsibilities as requested and assist member recruitment activities
  • Any other duties that may be required to support the programmes team

Competencies

  • Excellent communications and presentation skills including clear and concise oral and written communications
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and demonstrate efficient time management skills when completing multiple tasks within tight timescales
  • Highly motivated, organised and hard working with an eagerness to bring innovative and creative ideas to the programme
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues internally and externally
  • Ability to take on responsibility for key activities of the programme and be held accountable for actions and outcomes
  • Strong personal and professional integrity required to develop and maintain trusted relationships and ability to become a point of contact across the organisation

Essential Knowledge and Experience

  • Proven experience of taking a leadership role in event organisation
  • Experience of work in a public affairs, policy driven environment
  • Engagement with senior business leaders at board and CEO level
  • Interest in current issues and trends in Cloud Computing, Data, Analytics & AI
  • Highly competent with Microsoft and MS Office Suite and able to use social media tools

Desired Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of UK technology sector and UK Government
  • Media and press experience
  • Experience of trade association procedures and activities
  • Experience of staff management including interns
