Job Title: Senior Application Support and Development Specialist (2 Posts)

The Council are looking for a motivated forward-thinking person to work in the Applications Support and Development Team.
The Councils ICT team support and develop a wide range of business applications whist pursuing an ambitious program of work to improve their overall digital capability.
The Successful Candidate
As a Senior Application Support and Development Specialist you will provide support for ICT applications used by the various business areas of the Council. You will also be required to carry out software development activities relating to these Business Applications. You will also provide guidance and leadership to junior members of the team and/or project teams.
You will have some experience in a 3rd line support and development role and be familiar with some of the following development technologies:
- Visual Studio 2015 or higher
- .Net Framework
- VB
- C#
- Model View Controller (MVC)
- DevOps
- Java
- XML
- SQL
- Transact SQL
- CMS
- SQL Server DB admin
- Power BI
- CRM systems.
You will be able to work independently dealing with support calls and cooperatively with colleagues to resolve outstanding calls and/or improve software provision.
For this role the successful candidate must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
