Job Title: Technical Services Engineer

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Company is an IT Managed Services provider based in Richmond, SW London. Along with their sister company, are coming together as part of a new group of companies launching as an exciting new, unified brand, in Autumn 2019.
The group delivers fully managed services in IaaS (Servers and Desktops), DRaaS and BaaS (Backup as a Service) to select direct customers but primarily via the channel. The UK team is growing rapidly and has a number of vacancies in both technical and sales. They have further offices in Reading, Dublin and Rotterdam.
2019 has been a phenomenal year, with a number of new UK & global team hires, a handful of acquisitions across Western Europe, and very strong organic growth. 2020 looks to be even busier!
The Role:
The London office is a lively and dynamic place with an energetic hard-working team, of which 70% work in a technical role. They plan for a fast expansion and the next senior technical hire they are seeking is going to be influential within the team, someone who can bring a much-needed depth of experience in some key areas such as server architecture, Windows and/or Linux expertise.
Key Requirements:
- Truly passionate about IT and have at least five years’ experience in an IT technical role
- Happy liaising with customers in person, though mainly on the phone as most of their support and consultancy is provided remotely
- Be able to explain technical issues in easily understood terms
- Need to be able to work in a team and meet SLAs
- Able to work under tight deadlines and be able to prioritise under pressure, and should have strong project management skills as you will be working on multiple projects at the same time
- Be responsible for managing your own time
- Be expected to learn quickly and work with a variety of new and different technologies
- Be expected to join the on call, out of their rota, and work outside of standard M-F office hours on occasion for planned maintenance activities
The successful Candidate will have/ be:
Essential
- VMware vSphere
- Microsoft Azure
- Expertise in at least one of the following
- Windows Server (2008-2016) and/or
- Linux (Redhat, CentOS)
- Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 onwards
- Microsoft Active Directory
- Group Policy
- Microsoft Office (SPLA and O365)
- Troubleshooting IT issues
- Customer Facing experience
- Team leadership experience or wish to do so
Desirable
- Fortigate Firewalls
- PowerShell Experience
- Terminal Server experience
- Fibre Channel SANs
- Microsoft SQL
- Cisco switches, routers and Cisco IOS
