Job Title: Plant Chemist
Location: Redbourn, St.Albans
Salary: Up to £25,000 per annum + benefits
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
What you’ll do:
As the Plant Chemist, you will analyse the plant effluent samples in compliance with Company Systems and procedures including the Business Management System based at their Redbourn site in St.Albans.
You will assist the plant with maintenance works and carry out incoming bulk delivery assessments on vehicles and record their details on the provided computerised system(s). You will assist Site Management with paperwork records and ensure site personnel, contractors and visitors comply with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and Company Standards. You will be responsible for site Management in actively promoting environmental awareness to Employees, Contractors and Visitors and assist the chemists with the general tidiness and cleanliness of the laboratory.
The Plant Chemist will maintain the high standards of Site Housekeeping and assist Site Management with the Company’s obligations regarding the Site’s EPR permit and Trade Effluent Agreement. You will undertake any operational duties assigned by a member of the Site Management team, safely, efficiently and in accordance with instructions issued and Company / Site Procedures.

Redbourn Treatment plant accepts inorganic chemical bulk waste and treats with the Physio-chemical treatment. They are extremely passionate about the work they do. Their diverse team focuses on their customers and have the drive and energy needed to continue to deliver their success.
The experience you will need
You will hold an HNC / NVQ within Chemistry (or Similar). Previous experience working within a Chemist role and experience working with Hazardous Waste, however, this is not essential but desirable.
