Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: West Thurrock
Salary: Circa £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Company, a bespoke distributor and installer based in South Essex, are seeking a Logistics Manager to play an integral role within this growing business.
It’s an expanding business involved in the design and manufacture of a range of high quality shower screens which it sells to a network of independent bathroom retailers. This role is based at the Company’s Head Office in West Thurrock, which operates an assembly and packing operation, warehouse and sales sections and an accounts department. The Company currently sells its products in the South East of England with ambitious growth plans to cover the entire UK and potentially overseas.
In order to achieve this objective they are looking for a dynamic, driven, motivated and personable Logistics Manager.
The Role:
- Responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehoused goods by effectively managing staff, processes and systems whilst ensuring that targets are met.
- To coordinate the continuous improvement programme within the operation whilst maintaining and improving workplace health and safety standards.
- Generate and analyse KPI’s.
- Manage and assist with the physical movement and mechanical handling of products.
- Responsible for ensuring excellence in customer and product service.
The Candidate:
- Industry relevant qualification e.g. IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Experience of working in a logistics environment or working with distributing/packing goods
- Experience of loading and unloading containers
- Experience of Kaizen / Six Sigma (continuous improvement)
- Experience of working within a strict health & safety environment
- Staff management experience
- Knowledge of route planning and of geographical local area
- Computer literate – good knowledge of Microsoft package
