About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Arborist Team leader with COSS to join our growing Rail Arboriculture team operating on rail sites around the South East.
Delivering excellent services to our client is what we are about at COOMBES and we are looking for people who take pride in their work and complete tasks to a high standard. You will be a skilled Arborist able to ensure the safe removal and clearance of vegetation and trees along the rail lineside estate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working as the Team Leader, you will have the experience and knowledge to be able to support, mentor and develop team members to achieve their best work.
In this Safety Critical Position, holding a COSS competency is essential to ensure all works are completed safely and to plan. Strong communication skills, industry knowledge and a calm pragmatic approach are essential.
As well as sharing the ethos and values of our Company, you will have recent experience working as an operative in vegetation clearance within a railway environment.
About you:
A skilled climber, you will ideally have/be willing to obtain the following:
Essential:
- Personal Track Safety (PTS)
- COSS
- Chainsaw (CS30)
- Fell and Process Small Trees (CS31)
- Aerial Rescue
- Use of Chainsaw from Rope & Harness
- Brush Cutter/Strimmer
- Chipper
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
Desirable:
- CS32,CS34/35
- Rope Access
- MEWP/CS37
A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided with this role – therefore a full UK Driving License is an essential requirement.
A self-motivated team member, you will work both independently and as part of a team. Field-based for the majority of your time, you must be happy to work in all that the British weather has to offer!
