Job Title: Digital Signage Technician

Location: Newcastle

Salary: £40,000 per annum (negotiable dependant on level of experience)

Job Type: Permanent – Full-Time

We serve a range of industries internationally including Retail, Hospitality, Public Sector and Education.

We are seeking a technically minded Digital Signage Technician to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology to gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of digital signage and interactive displays. You will work closely with our Pre-Sales Engineer and various departments to ensure the smooth delivery of our cutting-edge solutions.

Reporting to the lead presales engineer, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Product Knowledge and Innovation
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of LamasaTech’s hardware and software products
    • Contribute ideas for product improvements and innovations
  • Technical Support and Configuration
    • Configure digital signage systems and kiosks
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, escalating complex problems when necessary
    • Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, including user manuals and installation guides
  • Sales Support and Customer Engagement
    • Assist the sales team by providing technical expertise during client meetings and presentations
    • Conduct product demonstrations
    • Participate in the scoping and analysis of Request for Proposals (RFPs), offering technical insights and solutions
  • Quality Control and Production Liaison
    • Communicate with production facilities to ensure order accuracy
    • Review and validate technical specifications of orders
    • Conduct quality control checks
  • Order Processing and Customer Communication
    • Prepare detailed technical specifications for operations to accurately process customer orders
    • Keep customers informed about order status, technical details
    • Handle technical escalations when handed over by the Customer Success
  • Project Coordination
    • Assist in coordinating project installations, including scheduling and resource allocation
    • Provide technical support during installations, both remotely and on-site
    • Monitor project timelines and communicate updates
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration
    • Assist with technical aspects of sales proposals and customer inquiries
    • Ensure accurate technical information in promotional materials
    • Liaise with the head of operations to streamline technical processes and improve efficiency

Skills and experience

  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  • A confident decision-maker.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Confident with technology, AV hardware and intuitive when learning new software suites.
  • Ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to travel nationally on a regular basis to meet with clients and partners with our BDM to technically support this role.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a technical environment.
  • Experience in carrying out AV hardware installations.
  • Experience in carrying out training sessions for internal and external customers.
  • Proposal and tender writing experience as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience working with kiosks or digital signage.

Hours and location:

The role is 40 hours per week and based at our UK office in Benton, a short distance from the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Office work is required for this role and there will be some national travel.

This is an office-based role. There may be some flexibility to work from home 1 day a week after full induction is complete, however this is subject to business needs. Our standard office hours are 09:00 – 17:30, Monday – Friday. As we work internationally there is a requirement for slight flexibility
