Job Title: Construction Bid Writer

Location: Peterborough / Hybrid role, alternating between office and remote work

Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum

Job type: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Bid Writer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in submitting quality bids for construction and property services frameworks and projects within the public sector. As part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for managing the entire bid process, from identifying opportunities to securing contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit high-quality bids for construction frameworks and projects within the public sector
  • Monitor external resources to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Develop and implement a proactive plan for securing future contracts and projects
  • Manage bids from conception to award in a ‘pre-construction’ format
  • Collaborate closely with the head of operations and delivery to ensure the timely and accurate submission of bids
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to understand client requirements and tailor bids accordingly
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and resources for bid submissions
  • Maintain accurate records of bid activity, including proposal documents, correspondence, and outcomes
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulations related to bidding processes

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience in bid management and bid writing within the construction industry, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling proposals and bid documents
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and bid management software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes and regulations is desirable
