Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

Location: Accrington

Salary: £13 an hour PLUS time and a half on bank holidays.

Job Type: Full time, Permanent contract (38.5 hours/ week)

Shift Pattern:

The full time shift pattern is Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday one week and then Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the following week and so on. Shifts are 12 hours including an hour and 15 minute break. The day shift commences at 7:50am and ends at 8:05pm.

We can offer you either Days OR Nights – you choose.

Hours: Full time staff members work an average of 38.5 hours a week. We occasionally offer part time positions on average our part time staff members work 22 to 33 hours a week.

Please note, we are looking to hire people with a driving licence who are aged over 25 (for business insurance purposes). However, we do have amazing Support Worker roles also for NON DRIVERS of all ages as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging young people and developing therapeutic relationships
  • Supporting young people through therapeutic interventions/programs
  • Escorting and supporting young people in the community
  • Sharing feedback about young person’s presentation
  • Completing records and notes in accordance with policy
  • Safeguarding young people
  • Risk assessment and risk management
  • Organising with the young person a weekly planner
  • Providing stimulating activity
  • Life skills development
  • Physical health monitoring (Training will be provided)
  • Empowering young people to be the best they can be
  • General housekeeping
  • Working with young person to prepare meals
  • Verbal de-escalation
  • Use of DBT language – Training will be provided.
  • Working with families and carers
  • Adhere to data protection act and policies
  • Attend and participate in handovers
  • Monitoring young people’s health and well-being and reporting back to senior staff
  • Uphold and adhere to all local and company policy and procedures
  • Work with the wider/local community in a positive manner
  • To keep up to date with appropriate training in line with PDP including online modules.
