The role:
To increase customer satisfaction by providing efficient, prompt, trouble free and courteous Front Office service to all residents, families and customers internal and external. This role also has the qualities of a Food and Beverage Attendant, meaning candidates with sufficient experience in either will be considered for the role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Services Development:
- Participates, as an active member, with the retirement community’s management team in developing plans for hospitality services including a) service offerings, b) budget, c) customer communication, d) satisfaction measurements, and e) input for program development.
- Coordinates services with community department heads for residents in a timely fashion. Works closely with the community administrator to ensure accurate billing.
- Maintains a professional image with appropriate business partners and vendors.
- Plays an active role in community functions by assisting in planning, set-up and delivery of service to residents.
- Participates in marketing the retirement community and its hospitality services.
- Responds to customer requests for information about the community and its surroundings
- Provide a valet parking service
- Receives proper approval codes for cash and credit card paying customers
- Identifies and records special billing instructions and notifies accounting and Head Concierge
- Completes shift closing accurately by getting appropriate approval signatures and authorization codes
F&B provisions:
- Sets up F&B areas, including the display unit with food and beverage items, according to menus.
- Ensures the quality and freshness of all food and beverage items and food displays or equipment.
- Responsible for all aspects of dining service, including tray/table presentation, preparation and serving of food and beverages, and clearing of service area.
- Adheres to department policies and procedures and standards for safety, cleanliness and sanitation as per health standards. Records temperature of all refrigeration units twice per day. Completes daily cleaning duties as scheduled to ensure cleanliness of F&B areas and equipment.
- Cleans and sets Bistro tables and chairs. Clears plates and trays.
- Serves alcoholic beverages as required. Opens and pours wine and mixes drinks.
- Learns and uses P.O.S. system for all food and beverage orders and transactions.
- Handles cash, room charge and credit card transactions as required.
- Establishes and maintains a pleasant atmosphere by creating an environment that promotes the enjoyment and comfort of each resident.
Customer Service:
- Interacts in a positive, empathetic manner with seniors, their families, referral sources, and the community at large. Identifies and responds to the customer’s needs in an appropriate manner.
- Demonstrates good knowledge regarding the senior housing industry.
- Works alongside other staff members with cooperation and respect.
- Answers the phone with a courteous and prompt response.
- Provides exceptional service and quality products to all residents and guests.
The Candidate:
- Candidates require a clean driving license with no accident or charges within the last 5 years.
- Demonstrates an ability to develop a network of providers and services.
- Displays excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Handles multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and is well organized.
- Demonstrates knowledge/experience with seniors.
- Provides solid mediation and problem-solving skills.
- Always maintains a professional demeanor.
- Works both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrates a warm, engaging, and patient manner.
- Can demonstrate use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Internet skills.
